CLUB POINTS AFTER RACE 2 SUNSET SURFSKI SERIES
CLUB POINTS AFTER RACE 1 SUNSET SURFSKI SERIES
Race 2 of the Sunset Surfski Series is Thursday 30 November – this time starting back at Port Beach.
Registration is at the southern end of big cark park from 4pm.
Race briefing at 4:45pm for a 5pm start.
Club points interesting so far as most of the points for categories were won in the Spec Ski divisions as our visitors for The Doctor took most of the top 5 category places. Thanks again to Ocean Paddler for the Fenn Spec Ski up for grabs for the club points competition.
Trigg SLSC are just ahead of City of Perth, with North Cott third. Sorrento picked up some good points in divisions as well.
The U/19 Spec Ski division is going to be interesting with just 30 seconds separating Devon Caren from Trigg and Riley Walker from City of Perth and Ethan Jackson also from City of Perth finishing 3rd in the race. Looking forward to a bigger wind on Thursday to see how the young boys go…remember these guys are chasing the Epic Spec Ski that has kindly been donated as a prize by Will Lee from Epic Kayaks WA.
With the King of the Cut race on this weekend in Mandurah for the SUPs we expect to see lots of SUPs racing. Last race the SUPs and skis finished within 20 seconds of each other….will the SUPs stay ahead of the skis this week?
Remember there are no late entries – please enter online by 12 noon Thursday.

Race 1 update
Just under a week to go for Race 1 – 5pm Thursday 23rd November starting at Leighton Beach, finishing at City of Perth SLSC.
We have lots of races within the race building up. The SUPs are gearing up, with Ian Grose from Starboard again supporting the race. We have SUP entries from as far away as Maui and the east coast of Australia entered already. The local City Beach Drumliners have been seen training over the course lately, so look forward to seeing them racing as well.
The chatter amongst the U/19’s is building..conditons are been watched daily as the fast compare themselves to the ‘downwinders.’ Going to be an interesting competition with the fantastic prize of brand new Epic Spec ski for the winner of the junior series.
The Over 40 and 50 numbers are already huge, so competition is going to be tough. There is the added bonus of food and drinks available at the City of Perth SLSC ‘THE GALLEY’ post event where individual races can be debriefed.
Race 1 will be hot with our International and Interstate visitors competing. The Open categories will see the best of the best competing as they have their final hit out before Saturday’s Doctor.
Again the club competition will be on…Trigg SLSC took home the Fenn Spec Ski last year, so other clubs will be vying for their chance. Remember to nominate your club if you are a member of a WA surf club, so points can be tallied.
Remember no late entries on the day… please enter before 12pm on race day.
